Aimee and Callums wedding at Tunnels Beaches was one of the most incredible coastal weddings I’ve photographed in Devon. As a documentary wedding photographer, venues like Tunnels Beaches are always exciting to photograph thanks to the dramatic coastline, private beach and amazing sunset views. Located on the North Devon coastline in Ilfracombe, Tunnels Beaches is one of the most unique seaside wedding venues in the UK. Guests reach the venue by walking through a series of historic hand-carved tunnels that lead to a private beach and dramatic coastal views.
For wedding photography, the venue offers incredible backdrops including the tidal pool, rocky coastline and cliffside views across the sea. Sunset portraits here are particularly beautiful during summer weddings, making it a favourite location for couples planning a beach wedding althoguh Aimee and Callum weren't treated to one of those. As a Devon wedding photographer, I love weddings that feel authentic and full of emotion—and this one was exactly that. The day began with heavy rain, but the weather held out just long enough for Aimee and Callum’s outdoor ceremony. With the sea as a stunning backdrop, they exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends. Aimee looked stunning in her dress from @findadressbridalwear, complemented by her hair styled by @tonigogola_weddinghair and makeup by @hannahmaymakeupartist. There was laughter, happy tears, and the quiet intimacy that makes a Tunnels Beaches wedding so special.
After the ceremony, the celebrations moved into full swing with portraits on the beach with their pooch Dexter, and of course making the most of the famous tidal pool. A little later during their champagne spray things took a turn as Aimee slipped and broke her elbow. She laughed it off, kept the energy alive, and danced the night away, proving that nothing could stop her from enjoying this unforgettable day. Guests enjoyed an incredible bbq with freshly cooked tiger prawns, mini burgers and more, while the stunning cake by @cakesbycrystal.89 added a beautiful touch to the day, which I had to taste test of course and it was delicious.
The décor and flowers added a soft, romantic touch to the day, with arrangements by @pumpkinandpye and personalised signage from @urbanframe_. The evening was full of joy, with a packed dance floor and happy guests celebrating every moment. From heartfelt speeches to the sparkling atmosphere under the Devon sky, Aimee and Callum’s wedding had everything a seaside wedding in Devon should.
