The Green Cornwall Wedding Photographer | Sarah & Jack’s Relaxed Cornwall Wedding
There are some wedding days where everything just feels incredibly intimate from the moment you arrive. Sarah and Jack’s wedding at The Green Cornwall was exactly that kind of day. In their words, "Our story began on a stormy night at Bingo Lingo, where a chance meeting quickly turned into something much more meaningful". Over the years they built a life together in Bristol, bought their first home and welcomed their much-loved cat Reacher into the family. Then, in February 2025, Jack proposed on a snowy ski slope in Canada, surrounded by breathtaking views. The next chapter of their story would bring them to Cornwall, where they wanted to celebrate their wedding with all of their closest family and friends.
Set in the Cornish countryside near Liskeard, The Green was a brilliant setting for their wedding. The relaxed atmosphere suited Sarah and Jack perfectly, and throughout the day there was a real sense that everyone was simply there to enjoy themselves, eat some great food and celebrate together. Getting ready at The Green Cornwall
The morning started with the bridal party getting ready in the main house. There was a relaxed feeling throughout the morning, with everyone getting ready together and the excitement gradually building towards the ceremony. As with so many wedding mornings, some of my favourite photographs came from the quieter moments. The final touches, the bridesmaids helping Sarah, the details of the dress and veil, and those little interactions that happen naturally when everyone is together.
There were also some lovely first looks, with Sarah seeing her dad and the moments she shared with her bridal party. For me, these parts of a wedding day are important because they tell the story of everything happening before the ceremony. They're the moments that can easily pass by in the excitement of the day but become some of the most meaningful photographs afterwards.
An outdoor ceremony at The Green’s Arbor
The ceremony was set to take place outside at The Green’s Arbor, although the decision over whether to stay outside or move indoors changed several times. With the unpredictable nature of a Cornish wedding day, there was understandably some back and forth over the weather and what would work best but ultimately, Sarah and Jack knew they wanted to get married outside, and it was absolutely the right choice for them.
The Arbor provided a beautiful natural setting for the ceremony, surrounded by the countryside and greenery that makes The Green Cornwall such a special wedding venue. With family and friends gathered around them, Sarah and Jack finally became husband and wife. After everything that had led them there — from a chance meeting at Bingo Lingo to a snowy proposal in Canada — it was a lovely moment to photograph. And that relaxed feeling continued immediately after the ceremony.
A relaxed wedding reception in Cornwall
The reception was all about enjoying the day. Good food, plenty of time with family and friends, music and, of course, a little bit of bingo bongo. Given that Sarah and Jack's story began at Bingo Lingo, it felt particularly fitting to bring it into their wedding day too.
There was also live music throughout the celebrations, with Holly Morwenna performing and Paul Haywood on saxophone later in the day, adding to the atmosphere without taking away from the feeling of everyone simply spending time together, which makes such a difference from a photography perspective too. When people are relaxed, the photographs naturally become more honest and spontaneous.
Sarah & Jack’s wedding portraits
Sarah's cathedral veil became a beautiful feature throughout the portraits. Its length and movement added another dimension to the photographs and gave us plenty of opportunities to create some really striking images of the two of them. I loved the way the veil worked against the natural surroundings at The Green, particularly with the countryside and gardens providing such a beautiful backdrop. It became part of the photographs without taking attention away from Sarah and Jack themselves.
Alongside the more natural, candid photographs from throughout the day, these portraits gave us some time to slow things down and create a few photographs of just the two of them. The Green has so many different surroundings to work with, which meant we could move around the venue and make the most of the landscape without keeping Sarah and Jack away from their guests for too long.
For me, these are some of the photographs that help bring a wedding gallery together — the natural moments and interactions from throughout the day alongside a handful of beautiful portraits that Sarah and Jack can look back on for years to come.
Photographing Sarah & Jack’s The Green Cornwall wedding
What I loved most about Sarah and Jack's wedding was how true it felt to them. They chose Cornwall because they love it and wanted the people closest to them to experience it with them. There was no need for the day to feel overly complicated. It was simply about getting married somewhere beautiful, surrounded by family and friends, with great food, music and plenty of fun along the way.
The Green Cornwall is particularly well suited to this kind of celebration, with its countryside setting, outdoor ceremony space and relaxed atmosphere.
As a Cornwall wedding photographer, I really enjoyed photographing a day where the atmosphere was allowed to take centre stage. From the morning preparations through to the outdoor ceremony, bongo bingo, live music and the more editorial portraits, Sarah and Jack's wedding was relaxed, personal and full of character.
