St Ives Harbour Hotel Wedding Photographer | Brogan & Jerome’s Coastal Cornwall Wedding

There are some wedding days where the happiness is obvious from the moment you arrive. Brogan and Jerome’s St Ives Harbour Hotel wedding was one of those days. Travelling down from Bedfordshire, Cornwall already held a special place in Brogan’s heart. Growing up, she spent a lot of time at her nan’s caravan in Perranporth, making the journey back to Cornwall for their wedding felt even more meaningful. With the sea views, the relaxed coastal atmosphere and the beautiful backdrop of St Ives Bay, the St Ives Harbour Hotel was the perfect place for them to celebrate with their closest friends and family.

As a St Ives wedding photographer, there is something incredibly special about photographing a venue where the landscape becomes such a big part of the story. The harbour views, the beach just a short walk away, and the changing light across the bay all added something unique to their day.

"So so happy. I can’t even begin to tell you how happy those pictures make me. They’re absolutely stunning"

In the morning I decided to travel into town by train as parking inS t Ives can be difficult especially in the summer months. When I arrived, the atmosphere with the groomsmen was relaxed, with plenty of excitement building as the day got closer. Over with the bridesmaids, there was the same feeling of happiness and anticipation, although for Brogan there were moments where the emotions of the day started to feel a little overwhelming but she soon realised it was because everyone was there to support Jerome and herself.

These quieter moments during the morning are some of my favourites to photograph. The small details, the finishing touches, and the moments where everything starts to feel real are often the memories couples treasure the most.

One of my favourite parts of the morning was with Brogan when she was finishing getting into her dress with her mums help, and Tiani finishing up make up. The little details, the movement, and the emotion in those final moments before walking down the aisle created some of my favourite images from the whole wedding as the lighting was perfect. A particularly special moment was the first look between Brogan’s dad and their son Clay. It was such a genuine moment filled with emotion and a reminder of how much these days are about family as much as they are about the couple.

A St Ives Harbour Hotel outdoor ceremony overlooking the bay

The ceremony took place outside at the St Ives Harbour Hotel, with incredible views across St Ives Bay. With Godrevy Lighthouse in the distance and the coastline stretching out behind them, it was the perfect Cornwall wedding.

The weather couldn’t have been better either; bright sunshine and clear skies, but without the intense heat that can sometimes come with summer weddings. During the ceremony, as I was looking around, there were just happy faces everywhere. Friends and family were completely present, enjoying every second of seeing Brogan and Jerome officially become husband and wife, and with Clay seeing his mum and dad too. The hotel doesn't allow confetti sadly, but Brogan and Jerome decided to give everyone wands with ribbon on instead to give that same feeling of walking through confetti and the photos came out amazing.

A relaxed coastal reception in St Ives

Before the speeches began, Brogan and Jerome made their entrance as newlyweds with DC Sax leading the way. It was such an energetic entrance and had everyone up on their feet straight away — the perfect reflection of the energy that ran through the whole day.

The speeches brought plenty of emotion, especially when Jerome spoke about his family. Being one of six children raised by their mum, there were many heartfelt mentions of both his mum and his eldest brother for everything they had done in bringing the family up. It was a really meaningful part of the day and showed just how important family was to them both. And Brogans sister also did a speech thank brogan for everything she's done for her and happy she is their children will grow up together.

The afternoon and evening had such a brilliant atmosphere. Guests made the most of the gardens with games including cornhole and giant KerPlunk, while others relaxed on the veranda overlooking St Ives Harbour. The view from the veranda is honestly one of the highlights of the venue. Having somewhere for guests to step outside and take in the views makes such a difference during a busy wedding day.

Golden hour portraits on the beach

One of the biggest advantages is having the beach so close by. Weddings can be wonderfully hectic, and being able to take a short walk away from the celebrations gives couples a chance to breathe, slow down and spend a few minutes together.

As the sun started to drop, we headed down onto the beach for some portraits whilst guests were enjoying cocktails back at the venue. The golden hour light was incredible, with the coastline and St Ives creating the perfect backdrop. These moments are always some of my favourites to photograph. Away from the excitement of the main celebrations, couples get a chance to reconnect and enjoy the fact that they are finally married.

The golden light, the sea air and the relaxed atmosphere created some of my favourite portraits from the day.

Photographing Brogan & Jerome’s St Ives wedding

What I loved most about photographing Brogan and Jerome’s wedding was how happy everyone was. The guests were full of energy, and everyone was so comfortable in front of the camera. That confidence makes such a difference on the day too. When people relax and enjoy themselves, the photographs naturally become more authentic, and that is exactly what I aim to capture as a Cornwall wedding photographer.

The St Ives Harbour Hotel is a fantastic wedding venue because it offers so much variety. You have incredible coastal views, beautiful spaces for celebrations, and the beach only a short walk away when you want a quiet moment away from the excitement. Brogan and Jerome’s day had everything that makes Cornwall weddings so special — amazing scenery, a brilliant atmosphere, and two people surrounded by everyone who loves them.
