Kingston Estate Wedding Photographer | Tristan & Rosie's Devon Wedding

Set amongst the rolling hills of the Devon countryside, Kingston Estate is a beautiful wedding venue that combines elegant surroundings with a relaxed atmosphere. For Tristan and Rosie, who travelled from London to celebrate with family and friends from all over the world, it was the perfect place to bring everyone together for an unforgettable weekend.

With guests travelling from overseas, having accommodation on-site meant everyone could stay together, slow down and enjoy more than just the wedding day itself. From the stunning outdoor ceremony in the gardens to an unforgettable evening celebration in the estate's cellar, every part of the day felt effortlessly relaxed.

As a Devon wedding photographer, venues like Kingston Estate offer the perfect backdrop for capturing genuine moments as they naturally unfold.

Although Tristan and Rosie now live in London, they are always drawn to the beauty and pace of Devon which is exactly why they chose it for their wedding. Kingston Estate perfectly combines elegant country house charm with the relaxed feel of a private estate, giving couples complete freedom to make the day their own.

The day began with everyone getting ready at opposite ends of the estate before guests gathered in the gardens for one of the most beautiful outdoor ceremonies I've photographed. Surrounded by rolling Devon countryside and summer sunshine, the setting couldn't have been more perfect. One of my favourite moments came during the ceremony as Tristan and Rosie exchanged their own personal vows. They were heartfelt, emotional and full of laughter, making the ceremony feel incredibly personal from start to finish.

Rather than the traditional dip kiss at the end of the aisle, Tristan chose to gently kiss Rosie's hand instead. It was such a simple moment but one that perfectly reflected their personalities and made for some wonderfully natural photographs. Also because Rosie couldn't lift her arms up in her dress.

A Relaxed Afternoon at Kingston Estate

After the ceremony everyone made their way onto the lawns while drinks and congratulations flowed. One of the things I love most about photographing weddings at Kingston Estate is how much space there is for guests to relax and enjoy themselves without ever feeling rushed.

Dinner was served later in the afternoon before everyone headed back to the main house under the marquee for cocktail hour with aperol spritz and margaritas. The relaxed timeline meant guests could explore the grounds, catch up with friends and enjoy the warm Devon evening while I stole Tristan and Rosie away for a few portraits around the estate.

Although Kingston Estate provides no shortage of beautiful backdrops, my focus was on Tristan and Rosie's movement and connection. Keeping things relaxed and natural allowed them to enjoy a few moments together while I documented the genuine laughter, conversation and little interactions that make portraits feel effortless. Another lovely personal touch was the wedding cake, lovingly made by Tristan's mum. Details like this always add so much meaning to the day and remind everyone that weddings are about family just as much as the celebration itself.

Dancing in the Kingston Estate Valted Wine Cellar

As the evening arrived, the celebrations moved into one of Kingston Estate's most unique spaces—the cellar. It's a brilliant atmosphere for a party. The stone walls, intimate lighting and packed dance floor create the perfect setting for guests to let loose after an emotional day. Eventhough it was scorching, the dancing continued right up until I left and I can imagine it didn't stop either!

The transition from elegant countryside wedding to lively evening celebration is one of the reasons Kingston Estate is such a fantastic venue to photograph. Every part of the estate has its own character, giving the gallery a huge amount of variety while the day still feels completely connected.
