Monika and Harry’s wedding at Ashley Wood Farm in Wiltshire was an unforgettable celebration filled with colour, culture and energy. Set within the beautiful Fonthill Estate countryside near Tisbury, Ashley Wood Farm is a stunning barn wedding venue surrounded by parkland and lakes.
As a documentary wedding photographer covering Wiltshire and the South West, venues like Ashley Wood Farm are always exciting to photograph thanks to the relaxed atmosphere, incredible countryside views and flexible outdoor ceremony spaces.
I had the pleasure of seeing Harry first thing in the morning, capturing his excitement and anticipation before the big day began. It was then over to the bride and Monika looked stunning thanks to Katie Gale Bridal on hair and makeup, and I immediately felt welcomed into this beautiful celebration. It was my first time photographing a Hindu ceremony, and I was so grateful for the couple’s openness - it was an incredible learning experience and an absolute privilege to capture such a meaningful tradition.
One of the most fun highlights of the day was the groom’s entrance to the venue, made extra special with vibrant smoke grenades — the perfect touch before the outdoor ceremony began. The ceremony itself was vibrant, heartfelt, and full of life. Families and friends joined in with incredible energy, and the Dhol players from Rhythm n Bass added the perfect soundtrack to this unforgettable day. The venue looked spectacular with flowers by Common Farm Flowers and every detail beautifully arranged for the occasion.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed delicious food from Ajanta Caterers and a fun pizza van by Soul Dough, keeping everyone energised for the evening with Adam Sayer, being top DJ for the evening, creating the perfect party vibe.
See what Monika and Harry had to say here:
“I cannot recommend Ryan enough! From looking at his Instagram pictures, I knew that we had to book him - and he absolutely did not disappoint! Our wedding was an Indian-British fusion wedding and this was Ryan's first time capturing a Hindu ceremony. Ryan was so open-minded and willing to listen and learn.
From the moment he arrived at my bridal cottage for getting-ready pictures, he put me completely at ease with his friendly nature and can-do attitude. Throughout the day, he was just an absolutely wonderful person to have around! All of our guests loved him and some even asked if he was one of our friends/relatives haha. My husband and I are not very good at PDA or posing for pictures - I think Ryan could sense that and was very kind when directing us for more romantic pictures! Although it felt slightly awkward in the moment, we really appreciate having those pictures.
The pictures that he's delivered are absolutely incredible - our friends and family are amazed by how he's captured everyone's essence. Although he was alone, he managed to capture multiple angles, formal and candid shots, and all the important moments during the ceremony! It was 31 degrees blazing sun and he was running around all day to get us our perfect pictures, and a lot of the time we hadn't even noticed that he was there!
Like I said, I cannot recommend him enough, book him for your wedding now!!!!”
