“Thank you Ryan for our amazing wedding photos! You were amazing from our chats before we booked, right up to delivery of our photos. They presentation is amazing and the little touches like the driftwood you collected from the beach on the day goes to show how willing you are to go over and above. I would happily recommend you to anyone looking for a photographer in the future. Our only problem now is how we choose our favourites to display! Thank you for giving us such beautiful memories from our special day, that we will be sharing with our families for generations to come.”

Tunnels Beaches is one of those venues that every wedding photographer dreams of visiting and I was very lucky to get that opportunity back in September this year. I’ve known Jess and her family since secondary school and after capturing her twin sisters wedding back in 2015, Jess decided to ask if I was available on their date, and herself and Drew then told me they had booked Tunnels Beaches and I was so excited to explore the Devon coastline and experience a wedding on the beach for the first time in over 100+ weddings. My wife and I decided to book the week away also and spend some time down there to re-coup ready for their big day after a very busy August capturing 7 other lovely couples weddings.

Jess and Drew first met at University and 9 years later, after living in London for a while, and then spending 3 years working in New Zealand and having their first child Alfie, they are now happily married living back in the UK ready for the next chapter in their lives. A really interesting fact about this wedding too, is that Jess and Drew were living in New Zealand at the time of planning their wedding and hadn’t even seen the venue, and went completely on impulse which paid off thankfully, all with the help from their friends, family and amazing suppliers which you’ll see at the bottom.

The day itself was hit or miss in the morning, with pretty strong winds and no sign of sunshine but the weather took a turn for the better right before Jess and her bridesmaids walked the very long walk under the tunnel itself through to the beach, and then down the aisle to see Drew at the end. After getting officially married back in New Zealand, they hired a celebrant to run the ceremony and gave their son a naming ceremony too which was beautiful. After that they walked the aisle of confetti, and then they said hello to all of their guests; some of which travelled from New Zealand to be with them and then the day run smoothly with the help from the team at Tunnels.

And to top off the day, we used the tidal pool twice; once before food and then straight after to get some stunning shots of them amongst the Devon coastline, and although it was super windy so the reflection wasn’t glassy, they are still beautiful and perfect.

Thank you to Jess and Drew again for asking me to capture their wedding; being my first beach wedding it certainly made me questions my living situation and makes me want to pack up and move down Devon for more weddings like this.

And don’t forget to share the love, and say hello to their suppliers below too.
